Canine Haiku, interspecies poetry, 2014
In collaboration with Tom
Canine collaborator Tom created this spoken Haiku about his love of ball chasing. In the process of making, we attempted to adhere to the classical haiku structure of 3 lines with alternating 5, 7, 5 syllable lines including a “cut” at the end of the second line and before the third line. For the most part we succeeded. However, Tom insisted that the last line consist of 6 syllables, so in this sense the Haiku is a canine adaptation on the classical form.
