Scratch Theremin

Scratch Theremin, Interspecies audio performance, 2011-14
In collaboration with Tom

For Scratch Theremin, I worked with Tom using interactive software and a theremin to produce collaborative improvisational interspecies performance. I built a custom theremin that incorporates a rug as an interface, to provide Tom with a scratching surface to gesture and create sounds. Tom accompanies his strumming with a diverse range of vocalizations.  Recordings have been used in performances.

  1. Hi, I heard about you through a mention of a VIVO event. I wish we could have had you on our Theremin radio show we did last spring.

Can you keep me posted on future dates? I’d love my ten year old girls to see/hear you.

I may be getting a date together for a little film shoot of an “Antique Accordion Orchestra” I worked up. I’d let you know if you’re interesting in performing as part of that event. It would probably be several acts, including mine. Maybe in the new year.

    Love, Bruce

    • thanks for your interest! there may be an upcoming performance next month. We’re still working on the arrangements. should have more info in a couple of weeks. – Julie
