Greenroom, interactive video installation, 2004
Greenroom is an interactive video installation where visitors are invited to enter, observe, play, relax and create in a virtual park. Greenroom offers visitors the opportunity to experience telepresence, the state of being in one location while appearing in real-time in another. The installation exists in two locations as identical “parcs” equipped with a variety of mock-park props and an interactive projected video – a real-time video-feed of a park environment close-by. Visitors’ movement in one parc triggers the interactive projection to reveal the other remote parc location and its visitors. These interactions are captured as image “postcards” and archived on the project website.
